New Directions Facilitates World Cafe

NH Business for Social Responsibility (NHBSR) has reached its 10th anniversary, which was an ideal moment to learn for its members to learn from their peers about innovative socially responsible business practices and create a vision for moving forward. New Directions Collaborative facilitated a two-hour interactive World Cafe dialogue with a ballroom of close to 100 people. World_Cafe_1

The World Cafe involves a series of focused, café-style conversations in groups of four people. A group explores a question and then its participants As dozens of small groups simultaneously interact, new ideas and insights will naturally arise, as will new networking connections with other New Hampshire socially responsible business leaders. Participants explored these questions:
  • What is the most inspiring example of socially responsible business practices you have participated in or learned about?
  • Looking forward, what is the most powerful way that you and we, as the NHBSR community, can act to make a difference?
The room was full of energy and ideas as people talked in small groups, meeting new people with each round of conversation. When the group came back together at the end, the conversations had surfaced many ideas for how NHBSR and its member companies could make progress, including helping small and medium sized companies adopt socially-responsible practices and encouraging mentoring between NHBSR members.
